Many people talk about the past lives of their soul. Can it be helpful to know about them?
We don't have a soul; the soul has us. Neither the soul nor its previous lives belong to us. We don't reincarnate, the soul does. Sometimes, under certain circumstances, the soul will give up information to a person. That information is not however about that person's past life but about previous incarnations of the soul. The characteristics of the soul and its drive, astrological influences and the shaping of our ego are all we have to work with in this life. Because some people are dissatisfied with their life, they decide to look to the soul for answers. They hope that the information that the soul gives up will help to explain their difficulties. They do this without first having explored their own ego systems. If they did, they might find that the answers to their difficulties can often be found a lot closer to home than in the soul's previous lives.
