Can we become aware of our own energy field?


Many people are aware of their own energy fields but don’t realize it. You might walk into a room, feel uncomfortable and decide to leave. Without being aware of it, you have actually responded to information received through your own energy field. Another example is the feeling of needing space around yourself, of feeling crowded. This feeling is unrelated to claustrophobia; again, it is a communication from your own energy field.


Through meditative disciplines, you can learn to amplify your energy field, becoming acutely aware of your outer boundary. Gradually, you come to feel that you are that energy egg — a molecule of the universe — with your body floating in the middle of it. You will have a sense that there is neither up nor down and you may see everything surrounding your energy field simultaneously, in one picture. Yet you will be unable to translate or make sense of what you see because you are no longer connected to your body. You can remain in that awareness for a moment or a longer period of time, feeling ‘as one.’
