where do spirits come from?

Many people will say that they believe in a spirit world whether or not they have had a direct experience of it. Others have had experiences and have come to accept the spirit's existence. Knowledge of the spirit world can never be gained through belief alone. It has to be experienced to be knownA student on a spiritual path must first accept the reality of spirit in principle, which will enable him to discover it on his journey. To fully accept the reality of spirit, we have to discover it for ourself and we can only do that by setting aside our preconceptions and doubts, and opening our mind to the possibility.

        Even when a person accepts the existence of a spirit world, he often thinks of it as something separate from himself, something "out there." He doesn't normally ask where spirits come from, nor does he wonder about his relationship to the spirit. 

         It may come as a surprise, but we don't have to die to become a spirit. We already are a spirit, albeit one that is still developing, and our body lives within us. The spirit that is us is an energy being consisting of a soul, an ego system, and a mind. It is the soul that gives each of us the drive to grow and learn. In fact, each one of us is here because of the soul; without the soul, there would be no life. Many people speak of having a soul, as though the soul belongs to them, when in reality it is they who belong to it.


where do spirits go?

When our body dies, everything about us - our basic character, psychological makeup, even our memory - moves on with our spirit. In some cases, for example sudden or accidental death, the spirit will remain in the physical world for a period of time, sometimes a lengthy one, before it moves on. In most cases, the spirit moves to the next dimension where it will carry out a service while its mind energy is purified. Eventually, that energy will blend with the soul, causing the soul to grow.
